Ingredients(2 People)
- 2 skin-on salmon fillets (approx. 170g / 6 oz each)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp raw honey
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, finely grated
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 4 heads baby bok choy, halved lengthwise
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
Le Fumoir Tip
Patting the salmon skin thoroughly dry before touching the hot pan is crucial for achieving an ultra-crispy skin without tearing or sticking.
Method(22 mins)
- 01 Pat salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels; season both sides lightly with sea salt and black pepper.
- 02 In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, raw honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger until blended.
- 03 Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- 04 Lay salmon fillets skin-side down and sear undisturbed for 4–5 minutes until skin is crisp and deep golden.
- 05 Gently flip fillets and cook for 2 minutes. Pour the soy-honey mixture directly into the pan.
- 06 Let sauce bubble and reduce for 1–2 minutes, spooning the glaze continuously over salmon until thick and glossy. Remove salmon to serving plates.
- 07 Add sesame oil and halved bok choy cut-side down into the remaining pan sauce. Sear for 2 minutes until tender-crisp.
- 08 Plate bok choy beside salmon, drizzle remaining glaze over top, and garnish with toasted sesame seeds.
